This London fashion week, witnessed from afar (checking vogue.co.uk for show updates) has, I believe been a bit lacklustre! I have seen very little which I have truly been inspired by. Even some of my london favourites like Michael Van Der Ham and Preen, just didn't seem to enthuse me. Is it just me? Or is it the recession fashions.
Louise Gray did her usual thing, pattern, colour and punk.
However there was one surprise of the fashion week. Rihanna for River Island! well apparently the Rihanna fashion show wasn't an officially LFW show, but whatever... the clothes were hot and definitely a capture of Rihanna's style right now. The clothes almost seem as if they could have been literally snatched right out her dustbins. Cos Rihanna wouldn't be caught dead in something she wore more than once.
The clothes, as you can see, are very high street, but with a aura of skinny slut, which I adore!!
Why do these brands insist on say thing that the celebrities that endorse their clothes "designed" them! who are they fooling!? Really? Kudos to whomever did though.
I might have liked the collection, but the critics didn't.
Rihanna’s collection for River Island as brought forth in London tonight was a horror show. – The Daily Beast
Nipple-baring, crotch-flashing mesh outfits and bra tops aren’t exactly what a stylish gal wants to throw on for a casual night out. The entire collection was a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. – The Huffington Post
Oh well, Rihanna's gonna get paid either way. And when the looks hit the shops in summer, there'll be queues for days. I know I'll be there! see you in line.
I'm really loooking forward to seeing the collection from Paris Fashion Week in particular Givenchy. Check in soon!!!
On the 18th September I was invited by a friend to see their, and by default, other exhibitions, taking place at Somerset House during London fashion Week!
Arrived around 1.30 and met up with Coco! Most of the day I just swooned around Somerset House, looking at clothes! A few hour later, I was dizzy from looking at all the garments and meeting/talking to new people, and the fact that I had a cold didn't help.
I was papped a few times by bloggers furious to get a piece of my style, which I didn't thinkg was that great, but I felt good though!!

Here are pictures of my favourite designers from the exhibition, I really should have taken more but, to tell you the truth, I could be bothers most of the time.
I'll be doing some other most from fashion week later!!
Here are some photos from a toile of a garment!! It's a bit messy, I did the pattern, cutting and sawing all today, in record time!! Jus' testing out some new things!!

London Fashion Week is here and, don't worry got some juicy things to share!! :)
My birthday is fast on the horizon... and for the first time in a long while, I have been excited to be a another year older! This year I feel enlightened about the fact of ageing! Every annum is a rebirth, a new coming into the world, to go back into gestation for another year round! I have to tell myself "Bitch, your only turning 24", but it is kind of like the last year of my "youth". Though my body is getting older my mind is still stuck at the age of 15!
Another year of life, is the greatest gift!! Yes Gwad!!
Here are some pictures of me messing round with some Christian Louboutin's!!
If you couldn't tell the shoes were 2 sizes too small... it was suicide for my hooves, but you can't deny I work the hell out of them, five o-clock shadow and all!!
This week has felt so hectic!! Emails, calls, researching, Pulling clothes, meeting friends!! But I promised myself that I would do a post!
Yesterday I was in Topshop's Flagship, when I peeped A picture of a familiar face on a poster!! Louise Grey "New Topshop Collection", donno why I was shocked 'cos I have known for a long time that she and Topshop had been working very closely for a while. When I interned for Louise last summer, a massive crate of free make-up from Topshop came for her, and she did design a T-shirt for them a few months ago.
Last year, (even though it feels soo much longer) around June I wrote off to London fashion houses desperately wanting to do an internship!! One of the designers that my tutor at the time advised me to contact was Louise Grey has she was a fast up and coming fashion designer. So I did... and surprised to me, she got back to me asking to see my portfolio and all that stuff and before I knew it I was pattern cutting, sawing and couriering around London for the Louise Grey label!
I was so in ore of her sense of style, trashy, punky yet girly! and the collection were inspiring to me and so alive, however her aura was a bit cold at times! But overall at the time I thought she was a nice enough person, and in fact I still think that!!
Here's a random story from my time at the label: I was working with this Australian girl, don't remember her name, anyway, we were the first interns (of many). She was quite shy but we really got on, and she even taught me new sawing techniques. The Aussie girl was having a problem with grading a clothing pattern. Trust me, it's hard!! She got so stressed by it she when and took a short break to calm down and work over lunch on the grading. There was no way I was not gonna take a lunch break so I when for lunch, and came back. On my way into the building a saw the Aussie crying her face off, walking towards me. I asked "Are you okay?", she responded "Yeah, I'm fine" we passed!! I didn't want to bother her, 'cos, when I'm upset, I just wanna be left alone! I just thought I'd comfort her when she gets back from lunch! But she never came back. not the next day, for the day after that! So asked Louise and Emma (the other woman that work for the label and Louise and Emma used to sit in the office while working and bitch about people!!) what happened to the Aussie, and I remember the just saying something really flippant like, "some people just aren't made for this business" or something on those lines! I was a little shocked. What had happened when I was at lunch?
Here is a video of the collection I worked on:
I think Louise Gray is a fun and creative designer! I really like her Topshop collection. Simple shapes with sequins and random patterns. Topshop when all-out for Louise with the pricing though, I thought I'd buy a sequined t-shirt for myself, and they were around £200 totally out of my price range!! I wish Louise Gray good luck on her life journey, not that she needs it!! Every good thing she receives, she deserves!
Yes!! I have been slacking on the blog, and yes I have been busy too, so I do have a bit of an excuse! Some exciting things are coming up soon, can't wait to fill you in!!
I have been assisting a few stylists over the summer, been to lots of fashion shoots!! Which has been so fun and really inspiring, to get myself out there at start styling on my own! And I have taken the steps to take that leap! so watch this space!
Here are just some pictures from the photoshoot I was assisting on (they were taken on my ipod so are kinda shitty quality):

So ya, that some of the stuff that has been up with me!!
Hi darlings. here are some photos from the limited edition of Arena Homme + fashion magazine that was photographed by world renowned fashion photographer Steven Klein (who directed Lady GaGa - Alejandro music video, which is symbolically one of my fav videos) Ironically, there is no clothing involved in the shoot, which we are not gonna complain about.
Enjoy the pictures, lovies!!
Fashion has not looked as good, since the 'Empires New Clothes'!
