Naked is in...

Hi darlings. here are some photos from the limited edition of Arena Homme + fashion magazine that was photographed by world renowned fashion photographer Steven Klein (who directed Lady GaGa - Alejandro music video, which is symbolically one of my fav videos) Ironically, there is no clothing involved in the shoot, which we are not gonna complain about.

 Enjoy the pictures, lovies!!

Fashion has not looked as good, since the 'Empires New Clothes'!

M.I.A.

I know I have been missing in action for a while, but gwirl I've been busy. I do have some new post coming for you soon but for the meanwhile I have this video I uncovered on the intranetz that I found inspiring!!

Socially Awkward - A Socially Awkward Dinner from Jonathan Stromberg on Vimeo.

The only issue with the video above (and I always have an issue) is this bullshit about "haterz", for me these mythical creatures are of the way of the unicorn, fairies and Naomi Campbell's hairline,
non-existent!!

Coco and Breezy are so cute!! They make me wanna have a twin!!

and shout out to my only subscriber Cartelle XxX

love the look

While peeps are looking for fashion revelation upon the catwalks of London Fashion Week. I, Gyasi Patterson discover the eternal spark of fashion forwardness from the surf filled streets of London town.
I have loved the Chola/Cholo style ever since Lil Loca (Youtube.com Vblog character) grace the computer. So east L.A. gangsta foray upon the eye. What’s magical about this gal is that she manages to blend it so well with goth and fem rock chic. I have to give her an applause for her poppin’ appearance and fresh twists upon urban clothing trends. bang, Bang, BANG!!
When I tried the Cholo look a few months past, it ended up looking like ‘The Pirates of The Caribbean’ instead of “fresh and clean on the L.A. scene” I guess real conviction gives real style. :( lol

Galliano no more :(

I love that he loves attention!!

Okay… lets talk about John Galliano and the drama that surrounds him… it’s pretty hard to ignore.

John has been officially sacked from Christian Dior.  Which is really sad, but we knew it was coming. Personally I think Galliano is one in a million in the fashion industry. A genius!! And I really don’t see what all the drama is about. Personally I love the idea of the rising to great heights from nothing, then the tremendous fall to disgrace, the life of the rich and famous. Being the “queen” of Dior brought him untold extravagance and power, and he forgot he was not untouchable.

These designers have so much pressure on them to achieve and sell collection after collection. Galliano himself had to create 6 collections of… say around 40 items each collection, that means he has to over see 240 clothing items a year. That is massive!! No excuses though!

Watch the video of Galliano blind drunk, slurring, mumbling and all… XD it’s really funny to me. I’ve been that drunk more times than I can remember (definitely because of the booze) and I have said more offensive shit than that... LMFAO… trust me…

I’m just glad the truth is out… drunks and children are the only ones that tell the truth… the truth is something to be celebrated!!

Pure... shit!!

This post is quite late, oh well...

Tuesday 15th I attended Pure (both spirit at Earls Court and London at Olympia) it was okay… I guess. It was at least interesting to see what people had to show. There was a catwalk show ever so often… I dunno what to say on the subject really… XD there’s some pictures

Will I be going back next year… probably, but only cos it was free!

...Random

I walked all the way from where I live in North London to Brick Lane (apparently one day there is not enough) and walk the way back. I racked up 10 miles on these tender feet. What can I say... I love to walk.

Pure London (fashion trade event) has started today until Tuesday 15th. Are you going?

Street Fashion

Today I was down Brick Lane, doin’ some research for my sketchbook, when this wonderful specimen of fashion fabulous caught my eye. Instinct over took and I asked her to steal a snap shot. I love the patterned trousers and the bandana, however her smile stole the show.
Hey gwerl!

Additionally I ran into the kind gentleman above who also allowed me to take his picture. Speaking to him, he revealed that he was a recreational poet, and a new comer to the stylings of the kilt (first time he’d wore it out). I Like very much… and now, I want a kilt of my own. J

I have to give a big shout out and THANK YOU to both of my fashion stars for allowing me to take their pictures so willingly.

G!: Mob Chique

Here it is folks, the skirt I made. Modelled by my good friend Scarlett!!

<3 this pix

Scarlett asked me not to upload the above right picture, where she was doing her hair. But I thought it was so funny and cute, I just had to. Hope she for gives me! XxX

Big shout out to Scarlett for helping me out. A big boo to Shukre for being such a flaky whore, love you though. I think Scarlett did a great job with modeling the hotness out of the skirt and tee. And of course I did an amazing job too! :P

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!!!

Photographer: Gyasi Patterson. Model: Scarlett Ave, wearing skirt made and designed by G! (Gyasi Patterson). T-shirt prinked by G!. shirt from a stranger club swap night (lol). Necklace from Cath Kidson. Bik Bok Bag. Black coat was a gift. White H&M Boots.

Making of: Mods Shirt

This is one of the first garments that I ever made. The other stuff I made was not even worth showing or even mentioning. When starting my fashion studies, in October 2010, I really did not know too much about how to put garments together, but I feel I’m learning fast, thus took the initiative to make a garment all on my own.

I drew up a very simple skirt block, at home, and added the random pleats, for some individual flair. I found some brown fabric at a charity shop. I had a good idea to dye the horrid brown fabric.

Bleached Frabric
The picture above shows the fabric after I bleached it, using your average domestic toilet bleach in my bath. Some of the weave lighten and others didn’t. I wasn’t sure about that look at first but I definitely think it worked when I added the orange. Below, is the picture of the fabric after I had dyed it orange. Sorry I don’t have any pictures of the fabric before bleaching and dying, but trust me, it was pretty ugly.

After sitting in orange fabric dye for 3 hours

Here’s a picture I took and posted back on 25th January of the toile I made of the skirt. I made it the night before.

Pictures of the making of the skirt…

THE FINISHED PRODUCT!! I love it!! So proud of myself. Half the time, when making the skirt, I did not know what I was doing, but it came out great.
